Linzie Thurman Griffin, 76, of Luxora, died on May 12, 2003 at his home.

A mechanic, Griffin was of the Baptist faith and a resident of Mississippi County for over 55 years.

He was preceded in death by two brothers, Buster Grimes and Rayford Griffin; and one son, Dwight Griffin.

Survivors include his wife, Virginia Griffin of Luxora; seven daughters, Ella Mae O'Kane of Osceola, Louise Allen of Paragould, Dorothy Turner of Osceola, Marilyn Rece of Marked Tree, Robin Ennis of Osceola, Lorene Turner of Lepanto and Virginia Faye Griffin of Florida; four sons, Lonzie Griffin of Tacoma, Wash., Jerry Griffin of Blytheville, Julian Griffin of Joiner and Eldon Griffin of Dyess; one sister, Georgia Griffin of East Prairie, Mo.; 36 grandchildren and 30 great-grandchildren.

Services were held today, May 15, 2003 at the Chapel of Wilson Funeral Home-Osceola. Burial followed at Mississippi County Memorial Gardens.

Visitation was held May 14, 2003 from 5 -- 8 at the funeral home. Wilson Funeral Home in Osceola had charge of the arrangements.
