Luther Darrell Jester, 63, of Lepanto, died on Sunday, May 18, 2003 at the Manila Nursing Center in Manila.

Born January 1, 1940 in Clark County, Ark., Jester was a member of the First Assembly of God Church in Lepanto, former member of the Osceola Lions Club, retired commercial bee keeper, former executive board member of the American Honey Producers and retired school administrator.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Luther and Winnie Jester.

Survivors include his wife, Patricia Herndon Jester of Lepanto; two sons, Kevin Darrell Jester of West Ridge and Christopher Mark Jester of Jonesboro; two brothers, Clyde Jester and Dwight Jester, both of Little Rock; and two grandchildren, Nathaniel Allen Jester and Callie Elizabeth Jester.

Services were held at 2 p.m. on Tuesday, May 20, 2003 at the Murphy Funeral Home Chapel with E. Joe Wilmoth and Sylvester Brannon officiating. Interment followed at Garden Point Cemetery in Etowah.

Murphy Funeral Home in Lepanto had charge of the arrangements.
