Shawn Alan Tillery

Shawn Alan Tillery, 32, of Jonesboro, formerly of Harrisburg, died Wednesday, June 25, 2003 at St. Bernard's Medical Center.

Born in Jonesboro, he was a 1989 graduate of Harrisburg High School and a 1995 graduate of Arkansas State University. He served as a coach at Weiner High School, Bay High School and Greene County Tech.

Survivors include his wife, Mandy Tillery of the home; his parents, Wayne and Debbie Tillery of Harrisburg; and grandparents, Charles and Helen Waters of Harrisburg.

He was preceded in death by his grandparents, Jake and Ottie Mae Tillery.

Funerals services were held at 10 a.m. Saturday, June 28 at the Harrisburg High School gymnasium, with Greg Harnden officiating. Burial followed in Harrisburg Memorial Park Cemetery under the direction of Jackson's Harrisburg Funeral Home.

Active pallbearers were Zach Garrison, Jay Cook, Tim Branum, Eddie Layrock, Don Webb and Danny Sample.

Honorary pallbearers were Chip Layne, Andy Barrett, Steve Rorex, David Owens, Mark Manchester, Doug Worley, Bobby Weeks, Greg Volner, Bill Taylor, Keith Houchin, Bobby Hutchison and former players on his basketball teams.

Visitation was held at the funeral home.

Memorials may be made to the Mandy L. Tillery and Jake Alan Tillery Scholarship Fund at American State Bank.
