Active pallbearers were Robbie Bankston, Ronald Tacker, Keith Tacker, R.J. Pitts, Sky Hood, David Pitts Jr., Ray Harrson Jr. and Wayne Hendrix.
A member of Neiswander Baptist Church, he was a retired factory supervisor for Gothan in Marked Tree and an Army veteran of World War II, during which he received a Purple Heart.
Survivors include his wife, Beatrice Pitts of Marked Tree; four sons, Harold Pitts of Mountain View and David Pitts, Travis Pitts and Keith Pitts, all of Marked Tree; two daughters, Carolyn Harson of Marked Tree and Linda Hinton of Tyronza; two sisters, Josephine McFerrin of Clinton and Mary Milks Olwein of Iowa; one brother, R.J. Pitts of Marked Tree; nine grandchildren; 12 great-grandchildren; and one great-great-grandchild.
