Funeral services for Carl Lee Moorman, 78, of Lepanto, who died Sunday, July 27, 2003 at St. Bernard's Medical Center, were held at 11 a.m. Wednesday, July 30 at Murphy Funeral Home chapel in Lepanto.

Jim Duffel officiated, and burial followed in Potter Memorial Cemetery.

Active pallbearers were Gary Jones, Tad Marshall, Greg Cole, Randall Stanford and Wade Lamb.

Honorary pallbearers included Cecil Burch, Moses Freeman and Buddy Pounders.

He was a retired farmer and a member of First Baptist Church.

Survivors include two sons, Billy Carl Moorman of Flint, Mich., and Dennis Moorman of Jonesboro; three daughters, Doris Steakley and Darline Pate, both of Lepanto, and Brenda Stephenson of Hot Springs; one sister, Lyda Hall of Parchman, Miss.; five half sisters, Nell Foshee of Bruce, Miss., Bill Beasley and Eunice Carter, both of Hernando, Miss., Rachel McPhial of Olive Branch, Miss., and Bonnie Benson of Nashville, Tenn.; one brother, Paul Moorman of Los Lunas, N.M.; 17 grandchildren; 26 great-grandchildren; and two great-great-grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by his wife, Sara Moorman; one son, Steve Moorman; and one granddaughter.

Visitation was held at the funeral home.
