Born at Turrell, he was a member of the Industrial Street Church of Christ, where he served as a trustee. He was employed by Mid South Manufacturing.
Survivors include his wife, Virgie Howard; his mother and father, Mamie Robinson and Robert Robinson, both of Detroit; one son, James Howard Jr. of North Little Rock; two daughters, Surkenna Irby of North Little Rock and Shameka Marshall of Marked Tree; two sisters, Ora Baker of Detroit and Valentine Baker of Osceola; five brothers, Robert Robinson Jr., Michael Robinson, Don Robinson and Derrick Robinson, all of Detroit, and Henry Ivy of Ponca City, Okla.; and three grandchildren.
Funeral services were held at 11 a.m. Friday, August 8 at Industrial Street Church of Christ in Marked Tree, with Orval McClure officiating. Burial followed in Pine Rest Cemetery at Lepanto, under the direction of Sims-Woodard Funeral Service of Marked Tree.
Sheldon Young, Benjy Marshall, Jackie Cypress, Norvell Young, Thermon Byles and Eugene Young served as pallbearers.
Honorary pallbearers included Robert Robinson Jr., Don Robinson, Michael Robinson, David Howard and Ralph Ivy.
Visitation was held at the church.
