Patton was President of the Poinsett Production Association, Past President of the Marked Tree Lions Club, member of the American Legion, Navy Veteran of World War II, and a member of the First United Methodist Church.
He was preceded in death by one daughter, Mary Lou Patton, three brothers and two sisters.
Survivors include his wife, Frances Patton of the home; two daughters, Susan Brewington and husband Ronald Brewington of Marked Tree, Linda Tantillo and husband George Tantillo of Platte City, Mo.; one sister, Helen Ayres of Camarillo, Ca.; two grandchildren, Robert Brewington and Angela Ford and husband Scott Ford; and one great-grandchild, Maegan Ford.
Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. on Friday, Sept. 6 at the First United Methodist Church with Bob Hagar and Joe Sparks officiating. Burial will follow at the Marked Tree Cemetery.
Visitation will be held today, Thursday, Sept. 4, from 6 p.m. to 8 p.m. at the Murphy Funeral Home in Marked Tree.
Memorials may be made to the First United Methodist Church in Marked Tree.
