Lizzie Anderson

Lizzie Anderson, 81, died Friday, Jan. 16. at Three Rivers Nursing Center in Marked Tree. Anderson was born Aug. 16, 1922 in Greenville, Miss.

Mrs. Anderson was a homemaker and a member of the Anderson Chapel Missionary Baptist Church where she served on the Mother's Board. Anderson was also a member of St. Matthew's Chapter #351 Order of the Eastern Star.

Anderson was survived by her spouse Charlie Anderson. Four surviving daughters include Francis Smith of Milwaukee, Wis.; Ann Powe of Elkheart, Ind.; and Charlie Mae Anderson of Chicago, Ill.

Anderson was survived by four sons: Nathaniel Engram of Marked Tree; Rev. Abdullah Shabazz of Springfield, Mo.; Joseph Anderson of Carson City, Nev.; and Charlie Anderson, of Memphis, Tenn.

Two surviving brothers include George Engram of Chicago, Ill. and Emmitt Engram of Chicago. Anderson was also survived by 29 grandchildren, 44 great-grandchildren, and one great-great-grandchild.

Visitation will be held Friday, Jan. 23 from 5:00 to 7:00 p.m. at Chapel at Sims-Woodard Funeral Home.

Funeral services will be held on Saturday, Jan. 24 at 12:00 noon at Anderson Chapel Missionary Baptist Church with pastor Reginald Taylor officiating. Mrs. Anderson will lie in state from 11:00 a.m. to 12:00 noon at the church.

Mrs. Anderson will be buried at Marked Tree Civic Cemetery.
