A retired employee of Osceola Products, he was a member of Tabernacle Church of God in Christ.
Survivors include his wife, Bobbie Beal Knighten; six sons, Odell Knighten Jr. of Caruthersville, Mo., and Curtis Knighten, Jessie Knighten, William Beal, Gregory Rose and John Beal, all of Osceola; six daughters, Sharon Garrett of Independence, Mo., Carissa Hitchyel of Kansas City, Mo., Carolyn Knighten of Muskogee, Mich., and Eloise McLaurin, Carolyn Tucker and Paulee Beal, all of Osceola; one brother, Charlie Knighten of Chicago; two sisters, Ophelia Anderson of Chicago and Essie Long of Osceola; a number of grandchildren; and a number of great-grandchildren.
Funeral services were held at 2 p.m. Saturday, Jan 17 at Pilgrim Rest Missionary Baptist Church in Osceola, with Willie Beal officiating. Burial followed in Whiteside Cemetery under the direction of Wilson Funeral Home of Osceola.
