Mae Jeanette Young, 79, of Memphis, TN, died January 25 at Baptist East Hospital in Memphis.

She was a retired sales person for C.E. Thompson Lumber Co. of Memphis, a member of Gracewood Baptist Church of Memphis, and she was married for 50 years to her husband, Shelby Young.

Survivors include her husband, Shelby M. Young of Memphis; one son, Mike Layman of Jonesboro; one daughter, Nanette Stanchak of Harrisburg; two sisters, Jimmye Brotbeck of Chattanooga, TN and Barbara Ann Whitmire of Hoxie; three brothers, John "Buddy" Barnett of Collierville, TN, Bill Barnett of Marked Tree, and Rev. Bobby Joe Barnett of Bradford, RI; four grandchildren; and six great-grandchildren.

Funeral services are scheduled for 1:00 p.m. Wednesday, January 28 at Murphy Funeral Home Chapel. Rev. Bobby Joe Barnett will be officiating. Burial will follow at the Marked Tree Cemetery under the direction of Murphy Funeral Home of Marked Tree.

Active pallbearers will be John Michael Layman, Christopher Layman, Bob Whitmire, Jim Brotbeck, Greg Barnett, and Mitchell Layman.
