Archie Lee Smith, Sr., 81, died of natural causes Tuesday, March 2 at White River Medical Center in Batesville.

Mr. Smith was born in Savannah, Tenn. and had lived in Batesville for the past 24 years. He was formerly of Jonesboro and a retired factory worker of the Baptist faith.

Smith was preceded in death by his wife, Hazel Yarbrough Smith; two sons, Kenneth Smith and Terry Smith; two sisters; three brothers and his parents Arthur and Eular Austin Smith.

Smith was survived by two daughters, Vicki Rouse of Trumann and Robin Thomas of Jonesboro; two sons, Archie Lee Smith of Harrisburg and Michael Smith of Batesville; three sisters, Shelby Jean Martin of Harrisburg, Christine Taylor of Little Rock, and Nellie Mae Bobbitt of Jonesboro; seven grandchildren and eight great-grandchildren.

Graveside funeral services were held at 2:00 p.m. Thursday, March 4 at Farm Hill Cemetery in Harrisburg.
