James Earl Warren, 74, of Marked Tree died Wednesday, June 2, 2004, at Methodist University Hospital in Memphis.

Born in Marked Tree, he was a retired Memphis City school teacher, a veteran of the Korean war, past president of the Marked Tree Lion's Club and was a member of the Marked Tree United Methodist Church.

Survivors include his wife of 48 years, Shelia Warren of Marked Tree; two daughters: Dr. Cynthia Landry of Marion and Linda Allen of Chattanooga, Tenn.; one son: Mark Warren of Memphis; and three grandsons.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Earl and Louise Warren.

A private family memorial was held on his birthday, June 4, at the Woodbridge Farm.

Memorials may be made to the Marked Tree Lions Club.
