James Gilbert Seaton, 71, of Luxora died Friday, July 16 at Saint Bernard's Hospital in Jonesboro.

He was a retired mechanic for Luxora Schools and of the Baptist faith. Seaton was also a member of the Luxora Fire Department and the CB club.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Grover and Cordiec Seaton; his son, Thomas Franklin Seaton; and his brother, Gerald Seaton.

Survivors include two daughters: Wanda Linebarger of Harrisburg and Sandra Hayes of Sherwood; three sons: Elden Seaton of Parson, Tenn., Danny Seaton of Burdett and Dewayne Seaton of Osceola; two sisters: Racheal Cagle of Kensett and Laverne Hubbard of Jackson, Tenn.; seven grandchildren: Lesley Matthews, Shannon Seaton, Candy Nations, Danny Seaton II, Brandy Seaton, Jessica Young and Serena Grass; and eight great-grandchildren.

Funeral services were held at 11 a.m. on Monday, July 19 at Wilson Funeral Home in Osceola with Jason Bowen officiating. Burial followed at Luxora Cemetery.
