Gladys "Louise" Counce, 80, of Marked Tree, died Sunday, July 25, at her home.

Born at Deatsville, Ala., she was a homemaker.

Survivors include three daughters: Virginia Dawson of Tyronza, Martha Mills of Harrisburg and Ruby Phillips of Mount Vernon, Ill.; four sons: Robert Hale of Marion, Billy Counce of Marked Tree, James Hale of Kansas City, Kan., and Charles Hale of Denver; one sister: Beatrice Rodgers of Tyronza; 22 grandchildren; and 45 great-grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Raymond Counce, and her parents, James Noah Brown and Virgie Virginia Downs.

Funeral services were held at 11 a.m. on Thursday, July 29 at Wilson Funeral Home in Tyronza, with the Rev. Captain Lovell officiating. Burial followed in Tyronza Cemetery.
