Gennetter Gibson, 81, of Osceola died Friday, Sept. 3, at Baptist Memorial Hospital in Osceola.

Born in Crawfordsville, she was a member of New Bethel Baptist Church in Joiner, where she was in the choir and served on the mothers' board.

Survivors include five daughters, Martha Latham and Arbedella Lewis, both of Osceola, Gwen McDaniel and Linda Gibson, both of Memphis, and Shirley Marshall of Blytheville; five sons, Little Joe Gibson of Virginia Beach, Va., Leroy Gibson of Joiner, Billy Gibson of New York City and David Gibson and Muhammad Allemeen, both of Chicago; two brothers, Joe Jackson of Chicago and Daniel Thomas of Osceola; 36 grandchildren; 25 great-grandchildren; and 10 great-great-grandchildren.

Funeral services were held at 1 p.m. on Monday, Sept. 6 at New Bethel Baptist Church, with the Rev. M L Smith officiating. Burial followed in St. Mark Missionary Baptist Church Cemetery under the direction of Wilson Funeral Home of Osceola.
