Hermon Aven Smith

Hermon Aven Smith, 64, of Lepanto died Monday, Sept. 20 at his residence. A lifetime resident of Mississippi and Poinsett Counties, he was a farmer and a member of Etowah Pentecostal Church of God.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Harry and Ethel Smith; one son, Rickey Smith; two sisters and seven brothers.

Survivors include his wife, Olene Smith of Lepanto; five daughters: Sandra Stevens of Sardis, Miss., Phyllis Isbell of Etowah, Diane Brown, Vickie Tittle and Peggy Darty, all of Osceola; one brother: Aaron "Pat" Smith of Etowah, nine grandchildren and six great-grandchildren.

Funeral services were held at 2:30 p.m. on Wednesday, Sept. 22 at Wilson Funeral Home in Osceola with Bro. Huey Meherg officiating. Burial followed in Potter's Cemetery in Lepanto.
