Mary Ruth Wilt, 83, of Amarillo, Texas died Saturday, Sept. 25.

Born on May 19, 1921 in Hunter to Own and Jennie Berry, she attended school in Marked Tree and graduated in 1939. She attended Texas Tech University and married Mason Wilt on January 1, 1944 in Lubbock. A homemaker, she enjoyed arts and crafts. She was a member of Church of Christ and Sunshine H.D. Club of Borger.

She was preceded in death by her husband in 1999, her parents, a brother in 1943 and a sister in 1989.

Survivors include one son: Rex Wilt and wife of Michele of Amarillo, Texas; one daughter: Cyndee Gayle of Snyder, Texas; three sisters: Ora Blake of Canton, Texas, Hazel Runberg of Amarillo, Texas and Hallie Fay Holden of Bencia, Calif.; six grandchildren and six great-grandchildren.

Funeral services were held at 11 a.m. on Tuesday, Sept. 28 at Schooler Funeral Home in Amarillo with Mr. Gene Shelburn and Dr. Alan Pickering officiating. Burial followed in Resthaven Cemetery in Lubbock, Texas.
