Charles "Chuck" Nelson Burres, 70, of Manila died Tuesday, Oct. 5, at St. Bernard's Medical Center.

Born in Jonesboro, he was a driver for the Northeast Arkansas Area Agency on Aging and of the Baptist belief.

Survivors include his wife, Emma Steinbach Burres of Manila; one son, Mike Burres of Jonesboro; four stepsons, Howard Harwood of Detroit, James Harwood of South Lyon, Mich., and Robert Harwood and Kenneth Harwood, both of Manila; two daughters, Tammy Burres of Fairbanks, Alaska, and Patricia Burres; one stepdaughter, Flora Cassidy of Manila; 27 grandchildren; and 19 great-grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by his mother, Izora Burres.

Funeral services were held at 11 a.m. on Saturday, Oct. 10 at the Calvary Baptist Church in Manila, with Edward Hawkins officiating. Burial followed in Manila Cemetery.
