Born January 6, 1933 in Tyronza, he was the son of Eddie Taft Jones Sr. and Pearline Wicker Jones Thornton. He was retired from the U.S. Postal Service, was a U.S. Navy veteran, a farmer, co-owner of Out Of The Attic, and a member of First Baptist Church of Tyronza.
Survivors include his wife, Greta Jean McLin Jones of Batesville; a son, Timothy Larkin Jones of Batesville; two sisters, Thelma Jean Jett of Tyronza and Barbara Ann Warfel of Fayetteville, Ga.; and two grandchildren, Larkin Addison Jones and Greta Raelea Jones.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Eddie Taft Jones Sr. and Pearline Wicker Jones Thornton, and a sister.
Funeral services were held at 2 p.m. on Thursday, Oct. 21 at the Willis-Hays Funeral Service chapel in Batesville, with W.T. Rider officiating. Burial followed in Egner Cemetery at Salado under the direction of Willis-Hays Funeral Service of Batesville.
Pallbearers were Julius "Sonny" Hancock, Robert Jett, Daniel Cagle, Jason Easley, Justin Easley and Brad Langle.
