Born at Weona, he was a farmer and a member of Lighthouse Gospel Church of Trumann.
Survivors include his wife, Mary Ellen Bogard of Jonesboro; four sons: James Ray Bogard Jr. of Trumann and Benjamin Tyler Greer, Bradley Travis Greer and Brandon Trey Greer, all of Jonesboro; his mother and stepfather, Betty Mae and Floyd Scercy of Harrisburg; 11 brothers: Rocky Coburn of Marvell, David Scercy of Harrisburg, Bobby Bogard of Swifton, the Rev. Larry Bogard of Bay, Steve Bogard of Dyess and Terry Bogard, Tommy Son, Kenneth Bogard, Larry Bogard, Quincy Bogard and Mark Rainey, all of Jonesboro; four sisters: Tammy Lamb and Janet Holt, both of Harrisburg, Marilyn Williams of Jonesboro and Sue Buazzard of Paragould; and two grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his father, Randle Bogard, a sister and a granddaughter.
Funeral services were held at 11 a.m. on Friday, Nov. 26 at Lighthouse Gospel Church, with the Rev. Mary Jo Thompson officiating. Burial followed in Bolivar Cemetery at Harrisburg under the direction of Wilson Funeral Home of Tyronza.
