Born in Benton, he was of the Baptist belief and a retired cotton ginner.
Survivors include three sons: Dennis Weathers and Randy Weathers, both of Sheridan, and Mark Weathers of Steele; two sisters: Marelene Stokes of Etowah and Linda Freeman of Lepanto; five brothers: Merle Weathers, Carlon Weathers and Larry Weathers, all of Etowah, Donald Weathers of Eudora, and the Rev. Jerry Weathers of Keiser; and five grandchildren.
Funeral services were held at 10 a.m. on Wednesday, Dec. 22 at the Etowah Pentecostal Church of God, with the Rev. Huey Meherg officiating. Burial followed in Garden Point Cemetery at Etowah under direction of Murphy Funeral Home of Lepanto.
Pallbearers were Ricky Laden, Ricky Freeman, Wayne Stokes, Keith Weathers, Greg Weathers and Kevin Weathers.
