Mr. Stansberry was born December 4, 1941 in Boone, N.C. to Stacy and Thelma (Scott) Stansberry. He married Patricia Ann Rogers of Dyess on November 4, 1960; she survives of the home.
Other survivors include his mother, Thelma Farmer of Richmond; one son and daughter-in-law, Jimmy Dale and Tina Stansberry of Higginsville, Mo.; two daughters and one son-in-law, Ann and Roger Hagan of Liberty, Mo. And Paula Stansberry of Harrisonville, Mo.; two brothers and one sister-in-law, Danny Farmer of Gulf Shores, Ala. and Theodore and Mary Farmer of Ft. Forth, Texas; two sisters, Dorothy and Robert Dehn of Richmond and Linda and Ben Talley of Las Vegas, N.M.; seven grandchildren, Mandy Jo Reary, Jarodd Stansberry, Tara Stansberry, Andrea Hanenkratt, Alison Hagen, Bradley Hagen and Cailey Hagen; and one great-grandson, Joseph Hibler V.
In addition to his father he was preceded in death by one brother, Mack Farmer.
Mr. Stansberry was a mechanic for many years before owning his own business, Stansberry Farm and Auto Repair, from 1979 to 1985. He attended the Hickory Grove Baptist Church. He had lived in Lepanto before moving to Richmond in 1970.
Funeral services were held at 1 p.m. on Monday, Dec. 27 at the Thurman Funeral Home in Richmond. Burial followed at Sunny Slope Cemetery in Richmond.
