He was born January 8, 1920 in Gillis Mills, TN, the son of Eddie Alexander Faulkner and Lillie Estelle (Franks) Faulkner. Formerly of Harrisburg, Mr. Faulkner married Dorothy Turnbow Weeks on November 21, 1964 and they moved to Lepanto in 1969. He was a retired carpenter and a member of the Lepanto Church of Christ He was a WWII U. S. Army veteran, having served in Belgium, France, and Germany. He was a staff sergeant with the 334th Infantry Division and was a Bronze Star recipient. He loved to work in his garden, woodworking and fishing.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Eddie and Lillie Faulkner; and two brothers, J.C. Faulkner and R.D. Faulkner.
Survivors include his wife, Dorothy Faulkner of the home; two sisters, Earlene Scroggins of Wynne, AR. and Joyce Ratliff of Harrisburg, AR; two sons, Laymon Richard Faulkner of Harrisburg, AR. and Doug Faulkner of Jonesboro, AR.; three step-sons, William Weeks and Bobby Weeks, both of Harrisburg, AR. and Dennis Weeks of Lepanto, AR.; two daughters, Doris Krauss of Harrisburg, AR. and Joan James of Groesbeck, TX.; one step-daughter, Joyce Gardner of Harrisburg, AR.; 15 grandchildren; and 37 great-grandchildren.
Services were held at 1:00 p.m., Saturday, April 2, 2005 at the Weston Funeral Service Chapel in Harrisburg with Mr. G. W. Allison and Mr. Jonathan Teal officiating. Active pallbearers were Keith Barnes, Bubba Faulkner, Richie Faulkner, Rich Leonard, Ricky Carter, and Steve Eastin. Honorary pallbearer was Jeff Moss.
Burial followed in Harrisburg Memorial Park Cemetery with full military honors.
