Charles Dean Taylor

Charles Dean Taylor, age 67, passed away Saturday, June 4, 2005 in Hockley, Texas. Funeral services were held on June 8, at Veterans Memorial Funeral Service and the National cemetery in Houston. He was born on October 22, 1937 in Marietta, Miss to Thomas Lloyd and Cletus Slack Taylor.

Charles was preceded in death by his parents and stepfathers Milton Wright and Clint May. He is survived by his daughter Terrie Lynn Crockett, husband Allan, grandsons, Charles & Andrew, Wilborn & Mary Slack of Lepanto, Vera Mae Slack of Georgia, Sammie May of Memphis, Waymon & Eva Slack of Mississippi, and many other cousins.

He was a 1957 graduate of Lepanto High. After graduation he moved to Houston where he worked in the construction industry until 1985, when he started and operated J R Trucking Co., Inc. until he retired in 2002. He served in the fourth armored division of the Army out of Fort Hood. He loved the outdoors and was a avid hunter for many years. He was a lifetime member of the Houston Livestock Show and Rodeo and actively supported FFA & Boys & Girls Ranch.
