Mary Lawson Andrews

Former Marked Tree resident Mary Lawson Andrews died at her home in Turrell on Tuesday, July 12, 2005, at the age of 86. Andrews was a former long time employee of John & Frank Drug Store and Schonbergers in Marked Tree. She was retired from the Turrell School District.

During World War II, Andrews worked in Memphis with an Army supplier and volunteered at the Memphis USO.

Services were held at Roller Citizens Funeral Home in West Memphis with the Reverend Carroll Evans officiating. Her nephew Bill Lawson delivered the eulogy. Internment was in Crittenden Memorial Park in Marion.

Andrews was preceded in death by her parents, Mr. & Mrs. John Lawson of Marked Tree; two brothers, Turman and Jessie Lawson, both of Marked Tree; and two sisters, Linnie Angel of Marked Tree and Lillian Haynes of Gilmore.

She is survived by her husband of nearly fifty years, Robert Andrews, of Turrell and by her daughter, Rosemary Andrews, a Deputy Prosecuting Attorney in Memphis. She is also survived by her sister-in-law Iva Lawson; her nieces Pat Dailey, Barbara Moise and Jean Hubbard, all of Marked Tree, Lynn Lawson of Jonesboro and Joyce Green of Earle. Nephews are Thomas Lawson of Marion, Sam Lawson of Memphis and Bill Lawson of North Little Rock.
