Peggy Ruth Bankston, 64, of Marked Tree died Tuesday, Aug. 16, at her residence.

Born at Memphis, she was a public accountant and a member of First Baptist Church of Marked Tree, where she was a Sunday school teacher and an organist. She was also a member of Marked Tree Chamber of Commerce and was a Rotarian.

Survivors include her husband: Robbie Bankston of Marked Tree; three daughters: Jana Hatley and Jennifer Massey, both of Marked Tree, and Christy Wallace of Florence, S.C.; a son: Wayne Bankston of Marked Tree; a sister: Jeannie Nichols of Marked Tree; a brother, Richard Wike of Bella Vista and nine grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Jess and Mary Frances Wike.

Funeral services were held at 1 p.m. on Thursday, Aug. 18 at First Baptist Church of Marked Tree with Dr. Richard Wike and Dan Reeves officiating. Burial followed be in Marked Tree Cemetery under the direction of Murphy Funeral Home of Marked Tree.

Active pallbearers were Chris Tacker, Rusty Holmes, Glen Gillis, Tommy Haley, Lester Bradford and Franky Frans.

Honorary pallbearers incldued Buddy Suiter, Bob Prince, Buddy Hughes, Larry Bankston, Ricky Bankston, David Sumner, Jess Wike, Jeff Wike and Patrick Wike.

The family requests that memorials be made to First Baptist Church of Marked Tree.
