Born at Harrisburg, he was a heavy-equipment operator and a member of Eastside Baptist Church in Jonesboro.
Survivors include two sons, Kenny Wayne George of Marked Tree and Perry Alred of Clarksdale; two daughters, Lynn Blagg and Renee Grissom, both of Marked Tree; three brothers, James Edward George of McCook, Ill., Kenneth "Buddy" George of Jonesboro and Robert Allen George of Quanta, Texas; three sisters, Jimmie Lou Garcia of South Bend, Ind., Virginia Kelston of Sikeston, Mo., and Dorris Covelli of Harrisburg; and five grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his parents, James Homer and Pauline Tillery George; a brother, Johnny George; and a sister, Martha Dunn.
Funeral services were at 10 a.m. Monday, Oct. 3 at Weston Funeral Service in Harrisburg with the Rev. David Strait officiating. Burial followed in Harrisburg Memorial Park Cemetery.
Active pallbearers were Roger McClain, Sarge Cook, Shane Cook, Jack Reed, Ricky Harrison and Micky Harrison.
Honorary pallbearers included Jimmy Garcia, Ray Garcia, Kenneth Garcia, Kevin George and Jimmy George.
