Born on Aug. 4, 1926, in Alabama, he was a farmer and a member of New Life Tabernacle in Wilson.
He was preceded in death by a daughter, Celicia Sparks and a brother, George Sparks.
Survivors include five sisters: Vada Day of Lepanto, Fern White of California and Velma Tee, Dorothy Rhodes and Lillie Russell, all of Booneville, Miss.; and two grandchildren.
Graveside services were at 10 a.m. on Saturday, March 11 at Bassett Cemetery with Rev. Keith Stokes officiating.
Wilson Funeral Home was in charge of the arrangements.
