John Clinton Lansdale Jr., age 81, of Marked Tree died Sunday, April 9 at his residence in Marked Tree.

He was born in Ethel, Miss., to John Sr. and Thelma Lansdale on July 19, 1924. He married Jenetta Ray Curtner on Feb. 1, 1947.

He is survived by one son, Johnny Ray Lansdale Sr. of Mason, Tenn.; one daughter: Debbie Kirby of Marked Tree; three grandsons: Johnny Ray Lansdale Jr., John Kirby and Joseph Kirby, all of Marked Tree; three sisters: Betty L. McGuire of Kosciusko, Miss., Marianne Ellis of Kerrville, Texas, and Lena F. Shelton of Germantown, Tenn.

He was preceded in death by one sister, Sarah L. Flint; one brother, James Hugh Lansdale; and his parents, John and Thelma Lansdale.

Funeral services were 2 p.m. Wednesday, April 12 at Murphy Funeral Home Chapel, with John Lawrence officiating. Pallbearers were Franky Frans, Robert McGuire, Doug Shelton, Albert Kinsey, Chris Baker and Dewayne Fries.

Burial followed in Harrisburg Memorial Park in Harrisburg.
