He was a member of the Baptist Church and was preceded in death by his parents, John and Mary Tyler, and a sister, Janie Elizabeth Barnet.
Survivors include his wife Audry Humphrey Tyler of Lepanto; two sons, Gary Everette Tyler, II and Terry Tyler, both of Lepanto; five brothers, Larry "Buddy" Tyler, James Tyler of Jonesboro, Charles Tyler of Jacksonville, Donald "Pete" Tyler of Lepanto and David Tyler of Lepanto; three sisters, Mary Gibbs of West Memphis and Angela Mckinness and Shirley Tyler, both of Lepanto.
Funeral services were held Monday with Jim Duffell officiating. Pallbearers were Johnny Franks, Micheal Kimbrell, Bobby McClain, Roger Dale Tyler, David Rash and Glenn Tyler.
Burial followed in Potter Memorial Cemetery in Lepanto.
