J.A. "Mutt" Glisson, 81, of Harrisburg, formerly of Marked Tree, died Friday, May 19, at his home in Harrisburg. He was born November 3, 1924, in Mississippi, the son of James and Virgie Glisson.

He was a truck driver and of the Baptist Faith. He enjoyed hunting, fishing, riding 4-wheelers and riding his motor-tricycle. He was preceded in death by his parents, a brother, J.L. Glisson, and a sister, Hazel Sharp.

He is survived by his wife of eight years, Evelyn Johnson Glisson of the home; one daughter, Barbara Mockbee of Harrisburg; one stepdaughter, Dora Lincoln of Maynard; one stepson, David Glisson of Poncahontas; one brother, Orville Glissen of Harrisburg; one sister, Lurlie Arnold of Odessa, Texas; three grandchildren and four great-grandchildren.

Funeral services were held Monday, May 22 at the Weston Funeral Service Chapel in Harrisburg. Interment followed in Harrisburg Memorial Park.
