He was born in the Promised Land Community near Trumann and was a lifetime resident of Trumann. He was currently self-employed having an in home repair and carpentry business. He was a veteran of the U.S. Army and a volunteer for the Trumann Fire and Rescue Unit and the ambulance service of Trumann.
He had a background in law enforcement including work at the Poinsett County Sheriff's office and the Marked Tree and Trumann Police Department for several years. He was a former member of the Trumann City Council, the Jaycees, the American Legion where he was an officer, Parkview Baptist Church and various other civil organizations.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Roy and Jewel Richardson; three brothers: Roy E. "Red," Richardson, Kenneth Richardson and Raymond "Corky" Richardson and two sisters, Edith Richardson and Agnes Richardson.
He is survived by three daughters: Michelle Reese, Jaclyn Moss and Candice Richardson, all of Trumann; one sister, Betty Sue Dodd of Jonesboro; eight grandchildren: Morgan Reese, Lillie Reese, Dallas Moss, Briannah Van Dyke, Carlei Burlison, all of Trumann, and Johnnie Ray Reese of Harrisburg, Lexi Johnson and Dawton Johnson, both of Mississippi.
Funeral services will be Thursday afternoon at 2 p.m. in the chapel of Thompson Funeral Home in Trumann with Rev. Paul Vincent and Rev. Gary Gipson officiating. Burial will follow in Pine Hill Cemetery in Jonesboro.
Active pallbearers will be Jeff LaFollette, Lee Watson, Wayne Halsey, Larry Moss, Mike Hobbs and LeRoy May. Honorary pallbearers will be the Trumann Fire Department, Trumann Police Department and friends of Couch's BBQ in Trumann.
