Roger Paul Holt

Roger Paul Holt of Harrisburg died Sunday, Sept. 24, 2006 at the NEA Medical Center in Jonesboro. He was born Sept. 19, 1953 in Marked Tree to Paul Vernon Holt and Elsie Faye Collins.

Following high school he attended and graduated from the Delta Vo-Tech in Marked Tree. He married Janet Scercy on Nov. 7, 1986 and they enjoyed 20 years together as husband and wife. He was a member of the Holly Springs Jesus Name Church in Harrisburg and was employed by the City of Harrisburg Street Department for the last five years. He loved music and began and played with the Tennessee River Band in the 1980's. Following that group he began performing with the Southern Express Band.

Music was his life and he enjoyed playing and singing and spending time with his grandkids.

He is survived by his wife, Janet Holt of the home; nine sons, Paul William Hole and Marcus Allen Holt, both of the home; Gary Paul Holt, Carl Eugene Holt, Jimmy Lee Crisswell, Heffrey Aaron Criswell and Jimmy Kain, all of Trumann, Joey Lee Bogard of Harrisburg and Brad Kizziar of Florida; one brother, Donald Holt of Harrisburg; three sisters, Sandra Armstrong Rabe and Becky McQuay, both of Harrisburg and 25 grandchildren.

Funeral services were today, Wednesday, Sept. 27, at Weston Funeral Service Chapel in Harrisburg. Pallbearers were Keith Faulkner, Rocky Coburn, David Scercy, Jackie Lamb, Clifford Pipes and Steve Parnell.

Honorary pallbearers were Kenneth Branum, Danny Faulkner and members of the Holly Springs Jesus Name Church.

Interment followed in Holly Springs Cemetery under the direction of Weston Funeral Service of Harrisburg.
