Bill Parnell, 71, of Keiser, died Monday, Nov. 6, 2006 in Lepanto.

Born Thursday, July 25, 1935 in Michie, Tenn. to the late A.C. Pannell and Ella Mae Webb Pannell, he moved to Mississippi County as a young man and went to work for Lee Wilson and Company. He retired after 50 years.

He was a member of Keiser Chapel Full Gospel Church and a volunteer fireman for the Keiser Fire Department for 40 years. He loved hunting, fishing and line-dancing.

He is survived by his wife of eight years, Violet Pannell; one son, Billy Gene Pannell of Carson Lake; one daughter, Tammy Thomas of Keiser; one step-son, Lesley Walker of Blytheville; four step-daughters: Patty Milloway and Chrissie Moore both of Blytheville, Kay Diffee of Joiner and Janie Leathers of Gulfport, Miss.; 25 grandchildren and 12 great grandchildren; one brother, Kenneth Gene Pannell of Byhalia, Miss.; two sisters: Helen Sojourner of Horseshoe Lake and Betty Cates of Waverly, Tenn.

He was preceded in death by his parents; his first wife, Wanda Pannell; one daughter, Shirley Hicks; one grandson, Justin Pannell; two brothers: Everett and Curtis Pannell; and one sister, Jewell Pannell.

Funeral services were held Wednesday, Nov. 8 at Roller-Swift Chapel with brother Jerry Weathers and Brother W.L. Prentice officiating. Burial followed at Mississippi County Memorial Gardens.

Memorials can be made to the Keiser Volunteer Fire Department or the Keiser Chapel Full Gospel Church.
