He was a farmer and a member of the Lepanto Church of Christ. He was preceded in death by his wife, Thelma Hyde Blackwood.
Survivors include four daughters, Martha Ford of Lepanto, Freda Armer of Scottsdale, Ariz., Patsy McClain of Lepanto, Faye Hill of Memphis; one sister, Elsie Blackwood Smith of Medon, Tenn.; fourteen grandchildren; thirty-three great grandchildren and four great-great grandchildren.
Funeral services were held on Tuesday, December 12 with Jonathan Teel and Gary Masters officiating. Pallbearers will be grandsons and one great grandson.
Blackwood was entered at Potter Memorial Cemetery in Lepanto.
Memorials may be made to the Crowley's Ridge Children's Home in Paragould or The Brother Leonard Fielder Scholarship Fund at the Lepanto Church of Christ.
