William "Willard" Whaley

William "Willard" Whaley, 63, of Lepanto, died Friday, Jan. 26 at St. Bernard's Medical Center in Jonesboro.

A lifelong resident of Lepanto, he loved to fish and deer hunt and was a member of the Rivervale Baptist Church.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Robert E. Lee & Effie Mae Mable Whaley, and several brothers and sisters.

He is survived by his wife, Judy Whaley of Lepanto; his daughters, Linda Hall and her husband James of Tyronza and Diana Bates of Lepanto Lepanto; his brothers, Wayford Whaley of Proctor, Jinks Whaley of Tupelo, Miss. and Wayne Whaley of Bartlett, Tenn.; his sisters, Susie McDowell of Vicksburg, Miss. and Tommy Barret of Burdett; four grandchildren: Cody Hall, Colton Hall, Cy Whaley and Lilli-Anne Bates and several nieces and nephews.

Funeral services were Saturday at the Rivervale Baptist Church in Riverdale. Emerson Funeral Home was in charge of arrangements.

His nephews served as pallbearers.
