Francis "F.M." May, formerly of Harrisburg and Lepanto, died Friday, March 9 in Searcy at the age of 88.

He is survived by his wife of 65 years, Billie Cady May; a daughter, Frances Gallagher and a son, Mike May, all of Searcy.

May served 23 years as Lepanto High School principal and counselor before retiring in 1976. While living in Lepanto, the Mays were active in the community and in the Methodist Church. He enjoyed woodworking over the years and giving to the John T. Gray School in Jonesboro.

Graveside services were at 1 p.m. on Monday March 12 in Harrisburg Memorial Park Cemetery under the direction of Weston Funeral Services of Harrisburg.
