Dr. Thomas Randle Sanders

Dr. Thomas Randle Sanders, 87, passed away Wednesday, May 9, 2007, at the Guardian Assisted Living Home in Lake Charles, La.

He was born in Jackson, Tenn. and lived in Lepanto. For the past five years he had been a resident of Lake Charles and Creole, La.

Dr. Sanders was an active member of First Baptist Church of Lepanto, serving as a deacon and Sunday school teacher. He served as a Chief Petty Officer in the U.S. Navy during World War II and was stationed in North Africa. He graduated from the University Of Tennessee School of Dentistry in 1948 and practiced dentistry for 38 years in Lepanto. Dr. Sanders was active in the Northeast Arkansas Dental Association, serving several terms as President and Vice President.

He was preceded in death by his wife, Ruby Dunn Sanders. He is survived by two sons, John Sanders of San Angelo, Texas and Richard Sanders of Lake Charles, La.; one daughter, Camille Thomas of Vicksburg, Miss.; seven grandchildren and two great-grandchildren.

Funeral services were held in Lepanto, on Saturday, May 11 in the chapel of Murphy Funeral Home. Jim Duffel officiated the service.

Memorials were made to the First Baptist Church of Lepanto.
