He was born Aug. 14, 1937, to Clay Franklin and Allie Bishop May. He was a member of the First Baptist Church of Lepanto and was a retired school teacher.
Survivors include his wife of 42 years, Brenda Girdley May; two sons Gary May of Kansas City, Mo. and David may of Lepanto; two daughters Angela Gary of Lepanto and Devin May of the home; one brother, Monty May of Jonesboro; three sisters, Sammie Parkinson of Lubbock, Texas, Wanda Lacy of Lepanto and Janet May of Lepanto; seven grandchildren and five great-grandchildren.
Funeral services were Monday, June 4 at the First Baptist Church in Lepanto with Jim Duffel officiating and Murphy Funeral Home in charge of the arrangements.
