He was born and raised in Marked Tree and graduated in 1950. As a resident of Breaux Bridge Louisiana since 1988, Mr. Bridger was currently retired and enjoying an active life traveling and playing pool as a member of the American Pool Association. He proudly served his country in the United States Navy as a Chief Aviations Machinists Mate. He was a stationed in the Philippines, the Antarctic and before he retired in 1974, Naples, Italy.
Any one who was privileged to know him probably took a trip around the world when he spoke of his many adventures. He was a loving son, father, grandfather, brother and friend to all who knew him and will be greatly missed by all. Bridger would have been 75 years old on June the Fourth.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Wylie "Doc" Franklin Bridger and Ruth Watkins Bridger Gordon; and his only sibling Wylie Franklin Bridger, Jr.
Survivors include his wife, Judith MacWhirter Bridger, of Breaux Bridge; one daughter, Karen Bridger Patin, of Breaux Bridge; one son, William Donald , of Dallas Texas; and two grandchildren, Sedric John Patin and Natalie Branscum.
A Eulogy service was held Friday, June 8 in Breaux Bridge at the Knights of Columbus Hall. Interment will be at 2 p.m., June 15 in the Arkansas National Cemetery in Sherwood at 1501 W. Maryland Ave, North Little Rock.
