Evelyn M. Horton, former librarian for Turrell Library died Thursday, July 19 at St. Bernard's Regional Medical Center. She was 85. She was member of Tyronza Methodist Church. She was preceded in death by her husband, Edward Hugh Horton, Sr. and a son, Edward Hugh Horton, Jr.

She is survived by one daughter, Elizabeth Horton of Marked Tree; three sons, Charles Horton of Marion, John Lloyd Horton of Lepanto and William Richard Horton of Arlington, Va.; and two sisters, Mary Young of Marion and Pat Moore of Gilmore; fourteen grandchildren and seventeen great-granchildren.

Funeral services and visitation were Saturday, July 21 at the Roller-Citizens Funeral Home Chapel. Burial was in Crittenden Memorial Park in Marion.
