Carolyn Craft

Carolyn Craft, 63, of Marked Tree died Sunday, August 5, 2007, at St. Bernard Regional Medical Center in Jonesboro.

She attended Marked Tree Church of God. She was a former member of the Jaycettes and a member of Beta Sigma Phi. She was actively involved with the Head Start Program for 20 years and served on the Head Start Policy Council. The Head Start Center at Harrisburg was named in her honor. She also served 10 years on the board of directors of Crowley's Ridge Development Council in Jonesboro.

Survivors include her husband, Bill Craft of the home; two sons, Wes Craft of Jonesboro and Tyler Craft of Marked Tree; one daughter, Angela Tucker of Marked Tree; her mother, Gaulena Higgins of Marked Tree; three brothers, Larry Higgins of St. Peters, MO, Terry Higgins of Southaven, Miss. and Tommy Higgins of Memphis, TN.; four sisters, Linda Worley of Jonesboro, Barbara Hall of Jonesboro, Rhonda Gillis of Jonesboro and Sandra Miller of Marietta, GA..; six grandchildren and three great grandchildren.

Visitation was held on Tuesday, August 7 at the Marked Tree Church of God. Services were at 10 a.m. on Wednesday, August 8 at the church with Reverend Patrick Tucker and Reverend James Perry officiating. Pallbearers will be Tom Hunnicutt, Andrew Butler, Doby Gillis, Paul Driver, Robert Wilford and Danny Adams.

Burial will follow in Marked Tree Cemetery under the direction of Murphy Funeral Home. Memorials may be made to the Church of God WOW Youth Program, 114 Allyn, Marked Tree, AR 72365.
