Karen Lee Bridger Patin

Karen Lee Bridger Patin, 40, of Breaux Bridge, LA, formerly of Marked Tree died Monday, August 6. She was preceded in death by her father, William Bridger; her maternal grandparents, Donald and Irene McWhirter and her paternal grandparents, Wylie "Doc" and Gladys Bridger.

She is survived by her mother, Judith Bridger; her brother, William "Billy" Bridger and her son, Sedric Patin.

Patin majored in Music Education and also majored in Elementary Education. She taught music at Our Lady of Fatima in Lafayette. She sang for many years with the "Mystical Rose Choir" at St. Bernard Catholic Church in Breaux Bridge. She also sang at numerous weddings and funerals. Music was her love and now she sings with the angels in heaven.

She was a 1985 graduate of Marked Tree High School. She was loved by many and touched the hearts of all who knew her.

A memorial mass was held at 10 a.m. on Saturday, August 11 at St. Bernard Catholic Church in Breaux Bridge with Deacon Marcel "Butch" Herbert officiating.

Interment followed at St. Bernard Cemetery No. 2 in Breaux Bridge.

A gathering of family and friends was held at the funeral home before funeral services. Pellerin Funeral Home of Breaux Bridge was in charge of arrangements. A video tribute and guest book can be viewed at www.pellerinfuneralhome.com.
