Nona Lee Long, 98, of Marked Tree died Wednesday, Aug. 22, 2007 at St. Bernard's Medical Center in Jonesboro.

She was born on Sunday, August 15, 1909, to the late William Robert and Bertie Myrtle Moore Davis. She was born in Prentis County, Miss., and had lived in the Trumann and Marked Tree area for the past 57 years. She was a housewife and of the Baptist faith.

Long was preceded in death by her first husband, Charlie Monroe Underwood and her second husband, Elbert Long; one son, Billy Charles Underwood; one daughter, Kathleen Underwood; one great-grandson, Eric Underwood; four brothers; six sisters and her parents.

She is survived by one daughter, Maxine Swan of Marked Tree; one son, Paul J. Underwood of Pekin, Ill.; two sisters, Vesta Milloway of Pekin, Ill. and Agnes Beard of Van Buren; one brother, Willard Davis of Harrisburg; 14 grandchildren, 28 great-grandchildren and 21 great-great-grandchildren.

Funeral services were Friday, Aug. 24 in the chapel of Thompson Funeral Home in Trumann with Rev. Rick Kimery officiating. Burial followed in the Marked Tree Cemetery in Marked Tree.

Pallbearers were grandsons.
