Jessica Lougena Kelso, 23, died Wednesday, Aug. 22 at the Elvis Presley Trauma Center in Memphis.

She was a member of Dominion World Outreach Ministries in Marion where she served on the minister's staff of intercessory prayer, leader of the dance ministry and director of youth ministry as well as other church ministries. She especially loved the dance and music ministries of the church.

Graduatin from Rivercrest High School in Wilson in 2002, she was a cheerleader for four years. She was preceded in death by her grandfather, Reverand Leon Kelso.

Survivors include her parents, Joseph and Mailyn Kelso of Keiser; parental grandmother, Norma Kelso of Mt. Vernon, Ill.; maternal grandfather and grandmother, Earl Troy and Mary Lou Catt of Lepanto; one aunt, Tracy Catt of Lapanto; God parents, George and Jeanette Connell of Marion and her fiancé, Nathan Adams of Eolia, MO.

A celebration of life was held Tuesday at the Dominion World Outreach Ministries in Marion with Pastor Sharon Nesbitt officiating. Active pallbearers were Lee Kelso, Jerry Kelso, Allen Gustafton, Lonso Gatlin, Ray Hiber and Walton Westfield. Honorary pallbearers were Caleb Connell and Zechariah Connell.

Burial followed in Potter Memorial Cemetery in Lepanto under the direction of Murphy Funeral Home.
