He was a retired self-employed heavy equipment operator and of the Baptist faith.
McCorkle loved his family very much and spent most of his days with his grandchildren of whom he was very proud. He was an avid hunter and fisherman. He also was a great cook and always had a new recipe to be sample by all.
He will be missed by his family as well as many others.
Survivors include his wife, Louise McCorkle of Tyronza; one daughter, Terrie Teague of Marked Tree; one son, Jeff McCorkle of Black Oak; his mother, Hazel McCorkle of Tyronza; four sisters: Wonza Fritz and Martha Bells, both of Trumann, and Pat Daniels and Joyce Wilson, both of Black Oak; two brothers, Larry McCorkle of Black Oak and Ronald McCorkle of Marion; and five grandchildren: Jessica Teague, Justin Teague, Ryan McCorkle, Connor McCorkle and Cheyanne McCorkle.
Funeral services were Saturday, Oct. 6 at Roller-Citizens Funeral Home in West Memphis. Burial followed in Tyronza Cemetery.
Pallbearers included Joey McCorkle, J.P. McCorkle, Tyler McCorkle, Chris McCorkle, David White, Justin Teague and Kevin Vaughn.
Memorials may be made to a charity of the donor's choice.
