Rofe was born on Oct. 4, 1931 in Sherrill to the late John Henry and Viola Sims Clayton. She was also preceded in death by his sister, Vertie Mae Clayton.
She was a member of Pleasant Grove M.B. Church in Osceola where she served on the motherboard. She was employed at EOC for 15 years and retired from American Greetings.
She is survived by five daughters, Ivy Sanders, Carolyn Pointer and Cynthia Boyce, all of Osceola, Virginia Ann Brown of Elkhart, Ind., and Brenda Kaye Coleman of West Palm Beach, Fla.; three sons, Wilbur Lee Rofe of Blytheville, Billy Rofe of Trumann and George Rofe of Joiner; four sisters, Lovetria Holman, Dazer Mason and Barbara Jordon, all of Eerie, Penn., and Dorothy Clayton of Kansas City, Mo.; four brothers, Lloyd Henry Clayton of Kansas City, Mo., Larry Clayton of Jacksonville, Fla., Melvin Clayton of Pine Bluff, and Dennis Clayton of Eerie, Penn.; 24 grandchildren and 24 great-grandchildren.
Funeral services were held Saturday, Nov. 3 at the Pleasant Grove M.B. Church in Osceola. The Reverend Ed Richardson officiated.
Burial was in Whiteside Cemetery under the direction of Wilson Funeral Home.
