Charlie Anderson, 95, of McKenzie, Tenn., formerly of Marked Tree, died Thursday, May 1.

He actively served at Anderson Chapel Missionary Baptist Church before his health prompted his move to Tennessee.

Survivors include his sons, Eddie Anderson of Paris, Tenn., Nathaniel Engram of Marked Tree, Lawrence Anderson of Washington, D.C., Abdullah Shabazz of Scottsdale, Ariz., and Joseph Anderson of Reno, Nev.; daughters, Francis Smith of Milwaukee, Ann Powe of Elkhart, Ind., and Charlie Mae Anderson of Chicago; goddaughter, Tamara McCuiston; 27 grandchildren; 58 great-grandchildren; and 20 great-great-grandchildren.

Services were Wednesday at 1 p.m. in Anderson Chapel with the Rev. E.D. Whitfield officiating. Burial followed in Marked Tree Civic Cemetery directed by Woodard Funeral Service.
