He was born September 19, 1929 in Victoria. He is a retired factory worker, a member of the Army, served in the Korean Conflict, is a Korean War Veteran and a member of the Baptist Faith.
He is preceded in death by his parents, John Redmond, Sr. and Lettie Cartledge, his sister, Ora Jones, and two brothers, Napolean Redmond and Joseph Redmond.
He is survived by five daughters, Rhonda Banks of Jacksonville, Vernice Carson of Macon, Ga., Juanita Redmond of Kansas City, Mo., Felicia Jones of Osceola, Tanya Nichols of Perioa, Ill.; five sons, John (Sylvia) Redmond III of Blytheville, Calvin (Theresa) Redmond of Drive, Neal Redmond of Osceola, Chris Redmond of Phoenix, Ariz., Justin Durley of St. Louis, Mo.; one sister, Bessie Williams of Kalamazoo, Mont.; one brother, James Redmond of California; 30 grandchildren and 11 great grandchildren.
Funeral services were Thursday, May 22 at Promiseland COGIC in Osceola. Burial followed at Whiteside Cemetery in Osceola with Elder, Archie Thomas officiating.
