Irene Tyler, 86, of Lepanto died Saturday, June 6, 2008 at her residence.

Tyler was a member of the First Baptist Church in Lepanto. She was preceded in death by her husband, Odis Tyler; two brothers, Billy Powell and Bluford Powell; a sister, Clytee Grinder; and the untimely death of two precious grandsons; Waylon Benton and Jon Tyler.

Survivors include three sons, Mitchell Tyler, Harold Tyler, Alton Tyler all of Lepanto; two daughters, Darlene House, Sandra Benton both of Lepanto; one brother, Lendon Powell of Lepanto, one sister, Margene Stiles of Baldwin, Miss.; twelve grandchildren, twenty-six great grandchildren and three great-great grandchildren.

Funeral services were on Monday, June 9, 2008 at 10 a.m. at the funeral home with Pastor Jim Duffel officiating.

Active pallbearers were grandsons; Steve Tyler, Keith Tyler, Damon Tyler, Michael Tyler, Wes Benton and Bo Powell. Honorary pallbearers were Rhonda Sanders, Pam Poag, Kristi Harrell, Carla May, Marla Blain, Becky Smith and Donna Powell.

Burial followed at Potter's Memorial Cemetery under the direction of Murphy Funeral Home.
